Expressive and warm-hearted, Stephania Romaniuk is a Calgary-based vocalist and composer with a colourful voice suited to classical, folk, legit ("Julie Andrews") musical theatre, and 1930-50s cabaret music.
Current projects include performing and recording the music of Bohdan Wesolowsky; studying and performing English art songs, German Lieder, and popular sacred vocal works; and composing music (with an interest in mixed media collaborations).
Opera, light opera, and musical theatre roles, and recital and festival appearances, have taken her across North America and to Europe. Major Ukrainian performances include: the Toronto Ukrainian Festival, Lemko Vatra (Ellenville, NY), Ukrainian Day at the Village, solo cabaret nights, and in concert with Merited Artist of Ukraine Ihor Bohdan.
Stephania holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. She is a member of the Vocal Arts Institute of Alberta.
Stephania is also a freelance writer, editor, and English tutor and a recreational visual artist.
